This was the second stage of the interview process. The first stage was a call with a recruiting agency, and they seemed more knowledgeable. This interview was the actual one with the company, but the interviewer didn't seem very prepared. He asked a bunch of questions, and I got most of them right, only missing one. That was the end of the line for me. I guess not many people develop with Plotly, so finding me seemed like a good match. Things went south when I mentioned saving my company $50K by using the free version of some software instead of the licensed one. If I hadn't been honest, I probably would have gotten the job offer.

Technical Behavioral

As a senior D365 professional, I found the interview process quite surprising. I went through four rounds of technical interviews, and honestly, they felt pretty repetitive, not offering much depth or variation in how they assessed candidates. Even though I got positive feedback all the way through, the recruiter told me I was put 'on hold' without giving a clear reason or any helpful feedback. What was also a bummer was that some interviews were scheduled as late as 10 PM IST, which didn't feel very considerate for someone who's working. Considering the time and effort I put in, the whole experience just didn't have the professionalism and clarity I'd expect at this level. I really hope the process gets better structured and is more respectful of candidates' time and experience in the future.

Presentation Behavioral Technical

It started with a 30min screening call over video conference, followed by a full day onsite. The onsite included a 1hr presentation to a panel of 4-5 engineers and engineering managers of varying levels. After the presentation, there were 6-7 back-to-back 1:1 interviews, each about 45-50 minutes long. I met with 2 directors and the rest were staff level or engineering managers. They mainly asked questions related to my presentation and my past experiences, and how I'd handle working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

First up, you'll chat with the Department Manager. They're mostly checking if you vibe with them. They might also look at your technical background, your experience, and your personality to see if you'd fit in with the team. If the manager likes you, they'll send you to the next interview. Then, you'll meet with the Supervisor. This person is mainly making sure you're "normal," meaning they're checking out your communication skills, your attitude, and if you can handle the job. If you nail this, you'll get an offer. Oh, and a big thing: they really care about fluent English, so expect that to be tested.
