First, there was a quick 15-minute call with a recruiter. Then, I had a 60-minute video chat with the hiring manager, who wanted to get to know me and ask some customer success related questions. The manager was really friendly and shared their people-first management approach. After that, I had a 60-minute panel interview where the team asked me more CS questions. They were a nice bunch, and I didn't feel nervous. They made sure I could ask my questions too. I got an offer about 3.5 weeks later, which was a nice surprise since I thought they might have moved on.

Technical Coding

I applied for a Software Engineer role and made it clear I'm not a React expert, emphasizing my strengths lie elsewhere. The recruiters still moved forward and set up a technical interview. It was supposed to be 1.5 hours, but the interviewer cut it short at 35 minutes, focusing solely on deep React concepts. No questions touched on my actual experience, skills, or the technologies I've used for years. Their expressions and tone suggested I was already dismissed. The interview ended abruptly, without a proper wrap-up or basic courtesy. It wasn't hard, just a total mismatch that could've been avoided if they'd read my profile or listened initially. Spending days preparing and blocking my schedule just to be met with obvious disdain felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Pros: Nothing from the interview process. Cons: Bad communication, wasted candidate time, rude and dismissive interviewers. Advice for management: If a candidate states they lack expertise in a specific technology, either screen for relevant skills or save everyone's time. Basic respect is free.

The interview process was smooth and well-structured. It started with an online application, then a screening round, followed by a technical round where they assessed basic troubleshooting, networking, and logical reasoning skills. The final stage was an HR discussion covering behavioral questions, my interest in the role, and my long-term career goals. The interview was pretty straightforward and the questions weren't too hard, which made it a comfortable experience.

Started with me giving a quick intro. Then they showed me a React code snippet using TypeScript and asked me to go through it line by line, pointing out any mistakes or ways to make it better. After that, they hit me with some fundamental questions about React, Javascript, and CSS. Finished up with some behavioral questions.
