First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kier Group.
Civil Engineer
It was a 3 stage interview process. Started with an online interview with basic questions, then a while later there was a group assessment to see how well we work in groups. Finally, there was a last interview to understand me better as a person and my experience with relation to the job and education.
- Could you tell me about your past experience?
- What are your thoughts on health and safety?
Data & Analytics Head
I had a really good interview and onboarding experience. It started with a casual chat, then a more formal interview with two senior leaders, and finished with a presentation. The communication was great throughout, and the Kier recruitment portal was super useful for keeping track of everything like interview updates, offer details, and onboarding info.
- Could you prepare a 30-minute presentation outlining a 12-month roadmap for leveraging Kier's Azure Data Platform to generate value?
Customer Service Team Leader
Worst recruitment process I have EVER been involved with! The sheer lack of communication is abhorrent and is only adding to the stress of an already volatile job market. The application was quick and heard that I was successful for interview within a matter of hours. But that’s where it ends! After interview I have not had an outcome or feedback from anyone and so far 6 emails have been ignored into the recruitment department! Sophia the recruiter has made no effort to reply to my emails and the phone number for the department is always on voicemail. I genuinely don’t understand how hard it is to provide an outcome with feedback to a candidate that took time out of their day to interview at the company.
- What would you do if a team member expressed feeling excluded?
Learning and Development Manager
The interview process was really smooth and organized, not too many steps involved. They were constantly offering adjustments and communicated promptly, giving me ample time to get ready for any tasks. The first interview was with my potential manager and the head of department. Then, the second stage involved a follow-up interview with the head of department where I had to present a task. Even though I didn't get the role, they provided thorough feedback.
- In what ways could you bring more creativity to this position?
