First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Khoros.
Software Engineer
The interview was pretty solid and covered a lot, with 3 main parts: Behavioral, Front-End (FE), and Back-End (BE). Each section was set up to check different skills, from talking to people to actual coding stuff. The Behavioral part was cool, letting me talk about my past and how I solve problems in a chill setting. The FE interview was a good chance to show off my UI skills, with tough but fair questions that made me think creatively. The BE interview really dug into my backend knowledge, focusing on how systems are designed and made better, which I thought was both interesting and worthwhile. The people interviewing me were professional, easy to talk to, and really seemed to care if I did well, making it a nice and encouraging vibe the whole time. Honestly, it was a good experience that showed me where I'm strong and helped me learn as a candidate.
- Can you discuss your previous professional experience?
- Which do you prefer, Front-End or Back-End development?
Technical Support Engineer
It was a good experience. They focused on my troubleshooting skills. I had to go through 3 rounds - HR screening, technical, and managerial. In the HR round, they asked basic questions. In the technical round, most of the questions were about Linux, networking, JVM, heap dump, and thread dump.
- What is a heap dump?
- What is a thread dump?
- What is the 'du' command used for?
Director
It started with a screening interview with HR, then a personality test. A lot of people don't get past that. If you do, you move on to interviews with the hiring manager and then other team members (peers, directs, etc.). Even though I was overqualified, they said I only had a basic understanding of the field. Everything was going well until the video turned on. With over 15 years of experience, I can only assume my age was a factor. It's not illegal to say someone isn't qualified, and I found a better offer elsewhere a few months later, so I didn't fight it.
- Can you answer this very technical question relevant for a Director position?
Social Media Coordinator
First, I had to take a CCAT test, which had 50 questions and only 15 minutes to complete. They offered a downloadable app with practice games which was super helpful! I can't say it was easy, but I passed it and moved on to the interview part. The interview itself went really well. I felt comfortable talking to the two people I met with, and the conversation flowed naturally. They asked about my social media background, how I dealt with scheduling conflicts with a coworker, and how I keep things organized. It was very chill and they were both really nice. I left feeling super excited about the job!
- Which brand's social media efforts do you find particularly effective?
- Can you describe your experience with social media?
- How have you managed scheduling disagreements with previous coworkers?
