First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Highmark.
Epic Analyst
The interview process was pretty standard. Started with a call with the hiring manager, then a team interview if you made it through the first stage. The team panel interview had some great questions, and everyone there was friendly and really knew their stuff about the Epic system.
- Tell me about your achievements as an analyst.
Project Manager
The interview process consisted of 3 rounds: an initial HR interview (30 min), followed by a Manager interview (30 mins), and concluding with a Director level interview (30 mins). The interviews covered technical and situational experiences, as well as team dynamics, with a strong emphasis on customer and vendor relations. We also discussed established best practices for Project Management and soft skills.
- Describe your approach to managing projects where the objectives or requirements are unclear.
- How would you deal with a situation where project ambiguity is high?
UX Researcher
First I chatted with the hiring manager who oversees the entire UX Team. After that, the next step was a panel interview. The panel interview involved a presentation where I walked through my portfolio. The people on the panel were my potential direct supervisor on the UX Research team and other folks from the broader UX Team.
- What were your direct and individual responsibilities?
Insurance
I had an in person interview where they asked some basic questions. They asked me several times what my boss would say about my work. After the interview, if I was still interested, they asked me to do a personality/assessment test. I did the test and let them know it was completed. I asked for the results and was told 'we'll get back with you', but never heard back. A few weeks later, a recruiter called about the same job, and I told them no.
- What would your boss say about you?
- Are you still interested in the job?
- Given two younger team members, how would you assist them?
