Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Highmark.
Business Analyst
It started with a phone interview, and then they had me come in for a face-to-face meeting. It was a panel of about 3 or 4 people. They asked me 'what if' questions about how I'd handle different scenarios. They also asked about how I'd deal with a difficult coworker. It was enjoyable.
- What's your experience duration in this field?
- Could you list the systems you've worked with?
- Describe how you'd handle hypothetical situations.
Business Systems Analyst
I applied for the job about 4 months ago and had completely forgotten about it. Then, a recruiter unexpectedly called to question my lack of a Bachelor's degree, despite my resume stating my degree is incomplete. I figured my 10+ years of experience would be enough, but she was quite condescending about it. It seems like they could have just rejected my application earlier if that was a dealbreaker.
- Do you possess a Bachelor's degree?
Business Analyst
I sent in my resume via the online portal and then got an email for an in-person interview. I met with both the hiring manager and the department manager. The hiring manager seemed friendly, but the team was going through a lot of changes, and it felt like everyone else was new.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with this company?
