First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guaranteed Rate.
Application Security Engineer
It started with a recruiter screen, then I met with the hiring manager, a vp, and an engineering vp. We talked about the role and how I'd handle the challenges involved. It wasn't technical, more about my process and how I approach things.
- How would you go about getting engineering teams on board to meet application security objectives?
Accountant
I submitted my application and then got an email reaching out with interest. After that, I scheduled a call with the recruiter. Then I completed an aptitude test. I had a call with the Finance Director and a team member. Then a follow-up call with the CIO. Finally, I received an offer from Guaranteed Rate.
- Do you have experience with insurance products?
Business Analyst
I went through 3 interviews with different people, including the company president. During my interview with the president, he asked me about what I had been told regarding the job. I shared the information I had, but he appeared displeased, stating it wasn't accurate, which was contrary to what I was initially informed.
- Could you tell me what information you received about this role?
Production Manager
The interview process overall was pretty straightforward. It started with a phone call with the recruiter, followed by a chat with the divisional operations manager. The manager sent over an initial offer via email, making it clear over the phone that it was just a starting point and that negotiations were expected. When I submitted my counter offer, it took weeks to get a response and there wasn't much movement on their end. Upon receiving the final written offer, I noticed a clause that could have significantly impacted a large part of the total compensation, which was never mentioned before. So, if you're considering this company, definitely read every single detail in your written offer. The whole negotiation and offer process dragged on for over two months from the initial informal offer.
- Can you discuss your industry background and your current role?
