Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Guaranteed Rate.
Marketing
There will be a few rounds of interviews. It's mostly so the teams you'll work with can meet you and give their opinion on whether you're a good fit.
- Can you describe your past marketing experience?
Marketing
I applied online and about a week later, I had a short chat. Then, they invited me for an in-person one-on-one interview, which went well. After that, I had a pc skills test that also went great. I also interviewed with two people at the same time, and they were super nice and laid-back. The whole interview process actually went really well for me. BUT, the pay negotiation part was a total letdown. The salary offered is extremely low, like, way below the industry standard. It feels like they're exploiting the current economy to find people desperate for any job, regardless of pay. It's a bummer because it's a fast-growing company. On the plus side, they do offer an on-site gym, 10 paid vacation days, a 2% 401K match, chances for career growth, and decent health insurance. So, if you prioritize those perks over the pay, it might work for you. Otherwise, you're better off looking elsewhere for fair compensation.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What makes you believe you're a suitable candidate for this role?
Marketing
I applied for a marketing job and got a call the next day to come in. When I arrived, they gave me a choice between interviewing for a processor role or a sales assistant role, which confused me since I applied for marketing. I opted for the sales assistant position as that's what I currently do. I met my potential manager, discussed my current salary and bonus, and left feeling quite disappointed. Later, I received an email offer with a salary and bonus lower than my current compensation.
- What makes you want to leave your current job?
