SRE Engineer
The main focus is on practical experience and conceptual understanding, aiming for an objective approach based on real scenarios. Topics often covered include: Linux OS fundamentals, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, troubleshooting), observability (metrics, logs, tracing, SLIs/SLOs), automation and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines), containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud (resilient architectures, scalability, high availability), and incident management/postmortems. Questions typically involve: discussing past real-life situations, diagnosing hypothetical failures, outlining strategies to boost reliability and lower MTTR, and analyzing architectural decisions and their trade-offs. SREs work in high-pressure environments, so we also assess: communication during incidents, prioritization skills, collaborative attitude with dev teams, and a mindset focused on automation and continuous improvement. There's also a brief chat with the technical manager to confirm past experiences, scope of work, and cultural fit.
- Could you tell me what you know about Kubernetes?
Financial Consultant
Had an interview with HR, then with the director, and finally with the superintendent. They didn't ask for technical details, they were more interested in getting to know me, understanding my background and my overall business vision (not just about the Casas Bahia business, but analytical reasoning and critical thinking in general).
- Could you tell me a bit about your history?
- Tell me about your background.
- What is your vision for the business?
Customer Service Analyst
We had a Teams meeting with a representative from HR and two supervisors from the department, along with other candidates. The interview had medium-difficulty questions, and I was the first to introduce myself in the room. The difficulty level was medium; they presented the offer and then started interviewing each candidate.
- What is your level of education?
- Where do you reside?
- Are you married or single?
Customer Service Assistant
My first interview was online and collective, with an individual presentation, it took a little over an hour. My first impression of the recruiter and the managers was excellent, they made us feel very comfortable. I was approved for an in-person interview at the headquarters and my experience was not so positive. Although I was well received, I feel that the expectations for the vacancy were not aligned with the reality of an assistant role and the offered salary. They are looking for a professional who is much more analytical here and there is no willingness to teach a professional willing to grow. I was also disappointed with the feedback I never received. The vacancy was frozen on Gupy even before my in-person interview, which led me to receive an automatic email excluding me from the process. After a long time without a response, I went after the recruiter who had left the doors open in the first interview, and I did not receive personalized feedback as she herself had offered to do in the first interview. Right after being informed of the frozen vacancy, I saw the same vacancy reopened on their page for new applications.
- How would you approach working within established processes and hypothetical scenarios where you lack prior experience?
- Could you describe how you would handle situations lacking a clear basis for response?
