First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Greggs.
Crew Member
The interview had a lot of questions about my past experiences in the food industry, with scenario-based questions too. It was a great experience overall, and the staff were friendly. The questions weren't overly difficult, but they often asked for specific examples from my experience.
- What's your background in the food industry?
- Can you share some experiences related to working in food?
Shift Supervisor
It was a pretty informal interview. They put me in this tiny, cramped room. They watched the servers for about 20 minutes and asked for my feedback on them and the shop. I used to work at Greggs, so I thought it went really well. But then I got rejected. I suspect they used my feedback and just promoted someone internally.
- What's your favorite bake?
- What feedback do you have on the servers and the shop?
Team Member
I had a few stages. First, a recruiter call, then a technical screen. They asked me a bunch of questions covering things like how I'd greet a new person joining the team, my definition of hard work, what I thought the job would involve, and ideas on increasing profits. They also asked about customer service and my motivation for wanting to work at Greggs. My answers were all scored, and they seemed particularly pleased when I suggested promoting the Greggs app to drive up profits. It felt pretty good and relaxed.
- What are your ideas for how you could help boost profits?
Sales Associate
First, they asked for my basic info like name and if I had any pronouns, which was a nice touch for inclusivity. Then, the main part of the interview focused on behavioral questions. They wanted to see how I'd work with others, manage stress, and juggle tasks. I also got asked about ways to boost store engagement and what I thought could be better.
- What's your approach to contributing within a team environment?
