Team Lead
It was a really smooth and supportive interview process. The interviewer was super clear about what they were looking for and gave good feedback when I asked. There were two rounds, both focused on case studies with some questions about my personal attributes thrown in.
- Can you estimate the sales volume of pasta packets in India?
Data Scientist
So the recruiter hit me up about this Data Scientist role, specifically for OFAC Compliance, working with Facebook as a client. After some back and forth emails, I got this technical test on Haccerrank with 7 questions. It was 4 SQL, 2 Tableau, and 1 Python. I gotta say, the SQL and Python coding parts were tougher than what I've seen elsewhere. The next day, they emailed saying I passed. After that, I had a phone chat with the recruiter, who was super nice. Then, I interviewed with the manager over Zoom. He was seriously the nicest person I've encountered in an interview. He asked about my background, then hit me with a case study and a guestimate. The final round was an interview with a manager at Facebook. She was also really nice, but I think she felt I might be a better fit for a different role. I was really impressed with Grail Insights and how they value candidates. Their culture seems amazing. It was honestly the most exciting interview process I've been through.
- Can you tell me about yourself, your educational background, your previous projects, your experience in Anti-Money Laundering and OFAC compliance, and your modeling experience?
- Tell me about yourself, educational background, previous projects, experience in Anti-Money Laundering and OFAC compliance, modeling experience, etc.
- Walk me through your background, projects, and experience, specifically in AML and OFAC compliance and modeling.
Management Trainee
It was a good experience overall. The whole process was put together nicely. The HR folks were very engaging. The whole selection process took a bit too long, though. It could have been wrapped up faster. First up was a Written Test with 30 questions covering Quants, Verbal, and Descriptive Language. The difficulty was easy to moderate, but the time was tight, and we had to rush at the end. Next, a Guess-estimate Interview where we got 20 minutes to solve a problem, focusing on our approach and confidence. The question was 'Estimate the number of passengers travelling in Blue Line Delhi Metro route every week.' The final round was with the Director, and again, we had 20 minutes for a guess-estimate question, this time tougher: 'Estimate the revenue generated through the car parking lot at DLF Mall of India every week.'
- Can you estimate the weekly passenger volume on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro?
- What is your estimate for the weekly revenue from the car parking lot at DLF Mall of India?
Analyst
So basically the HR called a bunch of us, like 20 people, at 9:30am for an aptitude test. It started a bit late, around 10am, which was fine. After the test finished at 11, they had us all wait in the reception area. It turned out the test didn't even matter because nobody got cut based on it. They just kept everyone waiting to be called in one by one for guesstimate interviews. I waited for TWO HOURS, and then the HR person called me to say my interview would be in about half an hour and I should grab lunch. Another hour and a half later, still no interview. I asked reception to check, and they told HR, who said it would be another 10 minutes. Half an hour after that, still waiting. I asked again, and again, another 10 minutes. Another half hour goes by, it's 3:30pm, and I've been waiting FOUR AND A HALF HOURS with no clue if I'm even moving on. I asked reception again. This time, because I was pretty upset and made it known, an HR executive actually spoke to me on the phone. They didn't apologize for the mess and told me I had no right to complain because the job description said it would be an all-day thing. I was so done, I told them off. I'd seen reviews about long waits, but this was ridiculous. The executive then basically said if I couldn't handle waiting, I could leave. So I did, but not before a heated exchange. It's really unprofessional how they treat job seekers. I wouldn't recommend this place.
- How did the aptitude test include Quant, Logical reasoning, and verbal ability sections?
