Business Analyst
If you're a fresh graduate with no experience, and have a B-Tech degree in any discipline, you're eligible. The process involves a telephonic round, a written test, and then 1-2 rounds of guess estimate interviews. What matters most in the interview is your approach and how you reason things out, as long as your assumptions are sensible. We're looking for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good quantitative abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be a logical and creative thinker, eager to get involved at Grail Research.
- Can you estimate the number of copies of Chetan Bhagat's new novel, set to be released in Delhi in 2013, that will be sold?
Business Analyst
I was mailed to send my resume, then they called me to explain the next steps. After that, there was an aptitude test with DI, reasoning, vocal, and an essay. I passed that and went to the HR round, which was straightforward. The third round was a case interview.
- Could you estimate the market size for Volini in Rajasthan?
Business Analyst
Started with an aptitude test which had some normal maths questions, english questions that were a bit difficult, and a subjective essay on either "Childhood competition-good or bad?" or "Corruption in overregulated society is inevitable????". Then there were three 1:1 case study rounds. The first was to estimate total tea consumption in Kg in India, given 1 spoon = 5gm. The second case study was about estimating the number of swimming pools in India. The third case study was to estimate the sales of a souvenir hawker in the most crowded market in your city in November.
- How many swimming pools are there in India?
