Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Grail Insights.
Market Research Analyst
The interview process was part of campus recruitment and was quite extensive. It started with a one-hour written test covering quantitative aptitude, grammar, data interpretation, and an essay. Candidates who passed this initial stage moved on to an HR interview. The HR interview involved basic introductions, questions about family background, and internships. They also presented a case study that didn't require any mathematical data, asking us to elaborate on the reasons behind certain aspects. Success in this case study depended on the number and justification of applicable reasons. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to elaborate well on the case study, which led to my elimination in the first round.

So first there was like this 1 hr written aptitude test, then a Technical and HR round. The technical round was tough, all based on guesstimates. They gave me a small case study to solve in 5 mins. The HR round was pretty easy.
- Could you solve the case study again, this time calculating from the demand side?
Market Research Analyst
I was contacted by HR and informed I'd been shortlisted, and they asked for my availability. This was followed by a written test with multiple-choice questions across Verbal, Quant, Logical Reasoning, and Data Interpretation. After passing that, I had a face-to-face interview where I was asked to perform market sizing and estimations for products and services. Based on performance and requirements, there were a few more rounds with senior executives. The work culture seemed good, people were quite relaxed.
- Could you estimate how many microwaves were purchased in India this year?
