First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gainwell Technologies.
Intern
It was a pretty easy interview process, mostly behavioral questions. I ended up getting the job, which was great! They mentioned that having a master's degree, or working towards one, really helps your application. The hiring team was wonderful. Unfortunately, the offer had to be rescinded because I'm an international student and can only work for up to 3 years after graduation.
- Tell me about the tools you've used previously.
- Are you currently pursuing or do you hold a master's degree?
Deployment Engineer
I had a technical round for the Deployment Engineer role. The interviewer asked about agents in pipelines and their function. Then we discussed the differences between ACL and NACL, and elastic IP versus private IP. They also asked about my experience in my current job roles. We covered the distinctions between AWS ACL and Security Groups, and at what stage a security group is assigned. The interviewer wanted to know the components of a VPC and its structure, and how to bypass steps in a pipeline. We also talked about connecting AD and ADFS, and my knowledge of Ansible, Docker, and Powershell commands. Finally, I was asked to explain a pipeline structure for deploying dependencies.
- Could you explain what an agent is in a pipeline and what its role is?
- What's the difference between an ACL and an NACL?
- What distinguishes an elastic IP from a private IP?
HR Generalist
Someone from the Talent team reached out to schedule a screening call. The screening call happened via video, but the Talent team member didn't turn their camera on and was unable to answer job-specific questions. The interview felt like a one-way check-the-box exercise. Afterwards, the recruiter for the role got in touch, stating the hiring team would review the recording and that a response could take over a week. I felt this extra step wasn't needed and a direct conversation with the recruiter would have been better. Ultimately, I was ghosted and never heard back from the hiring team.
- Can you describe your experience working collaboratively with other teams?
- Do you have current authorization to work in the United States?
Project Manager
I wanted to share my thoughts on my interview. It was a bit off when they wanted us to have cameras on but they didn't. We should all be visible to make it more human and transparent. Also, I'd like interviewers to be more respectful and collaborative. It's a two-way street, we're checking them out too. Professionalism matters. It would be helpful if they sent the JD beforehand so we could prepare better. We take time off for these, and knowing the role makes it more meaningful. I've always liked Gainwell and their healthcare tech work. But experiences like this can shape how people see the company. Hope management can set some clear interview rules that show Gainwell's values.
- How would you handle managing quality metrics?
