The hiring process was pretty easy and chill. I sent in my application online and they hit me up for an in-person interview pretty quick, like within a few days. The manager was cool and just asked some basic stuff about when I can work, my past customer service gigs, and how I'd cope during super busy times. It was a laid-back vibe, and the whole thing wrapped up in under 20 mins.

My interview process with Food Lion was pretty simple and professional. The hiring manager was nice and asked about my work background, when I can work, and my customer service skills. The vibe was chill, which made it easier to share my answers. I liked that they explained the job well and let me ask questions at the end. Overall, it was a good experience and gave me a good feeling about the company.

I had a phone screen with the recruiter, who was great, followed by a virtual meeting with the hiring manager. There were supposed to be two more in-person interviews focused on culture fit. The hiring manager seemed really off from the start, and I felt like she dismissed me immediately, even though I'm usually a strong interviewer. She kept interrupting, and even though we finished early, it felt like she wasn't really listening and was uninterested. It was a strange vibe, and I even considered ending the interview early, which I've never wanted to do before. I think she might have been looking for a different type of candidate. Also, some of what the recruiter said about the role didn't match what the manager described, like about hiring people and who I'd report to. She also made it clear she didn't think I was qualified, calling it a third-tier manager role at the end. It was a bad experience, and I don't think I'd want to work there, especially in that department. She also hinted at being a micromanager, so I guess I dodged a bullet despite the good compensation.

The interview process was wonderful! I applied through Food Lion's website, selecting the store and position I wanted. Then I followed up with the hiring supervisor I'd spoken to earlier to let her know I'd applied and was interested in her store. She called me in for an interview the same day, within a few hours of my initial call. It's important to allow at least one business day for your application and resume to load into the system. Make sure you have the correct store and position selected before applying. Follow up within 24-48 hours to let the supervisor for the department you're applying for know you've completed your application and would like an interview. The supervisor was extremely professional, thorough, kind, honest, and willing to answer all my questions during the interview. After the interview, I was hired and told to expect a call to schedule training.
