FINRA Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process involved 3 rounds. First, a phone screen with a recruiter to discuss what FINRA does. Second, a virtual technical coding interview. Third, an on-site technical coding interview. The experience was smooth and professional, with quick responses between rounds.

I had an initial chat with a recruiter, then a second round with some team folks, and finally a third interview with the hiring manager. The recruiter was super communicative at first, and everyone I talked to in the second and third interviews was nice and asked good questions. It was all going great until after the last interview. I never heard back. I reached out to the recruiter about 10 days after the third interview and got no response. They were great with communication before, but then it just stopped without any word, or even an automated rejection. I still don't know what happened with the process or the job. It was pretty surprising to not get any update after getting that far.

It was exciting to get an opportunity to interview with FINRA which itself is a rarity. After getting through the first coding round, I was told there will be a technical round virtual and then a in person interview with 6 people. making a total of 2 more rounds. They then decided to split it into 1 technical virtual screening and then after that they said it will be 2 more rounds virtually with 2 sets of 2 people. Which I went though anyways with excitement. Then it came to the in-person interview (a little over an hour drive in traffic, which is normal for our area) finally for which honestly could have easily been another virtual interview and wouldn't have mattered. After doing great in all of these interviews (5 separate interviews with 7 people) and getting good feedback for everything. They kept me waiting for the outcome for 2 days. and then say they are NOT going to move forward with me because of something that I already demonstrated I was good at. This is definitely frustrating to hear a negetive response after seeing everything go so well especially in the current market when people are getting laid off and having a hard time getting a job. But overall interview experience was good and I would rate it medium difficulty when you have over 10 years of experience in the field. But the choosiness is where the experience turned bad to me. Hence neutral rating.

It was a terrible experience. They had me go through several hours of interviews. Then the recruiter said I'd get a contingent offer, pending a background check and drug test. I completed both quickly, and they said I passed. The recruiter then asked for times to schedule a 'final 30 minute Zoom video meeting.' I gave them my availability, and then they ghosted me. I followed up the next week and they said they were impressed but decided not to move forward. They told me to keep applying. They totally backed out of the contingent offer with no explanation. It was extremely unprofessional.
