HR reached out about a month after I applied to see if I was still interested. Then I had an in-person interview in Berlin, CT. Within 24 hours of that interview, I got an email for a second interview. The HR/Talent Acquisition team was responsive and friendly. Onboarding was pretty straightforward. The only real downside was how long the background check took. But yeah, I'd recommend it.

The interview process took about 2 weeks and was pretty good. It kicked off with an online HR chat about my background, my data analytics experience, and if I was interested in the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) program. Then I had two technical interviews with the team, and a final chat with the program manager. The first tech interview was heavy on SQL, data modeling, and reporting stuff, like figuring out customer retention, churn, and checking smart-meter data for errors. They also asked about Python, mainly pandas and how I do visualizations, and some situationals about what I'd do if I found missing or bad meter data in a live pipeline. The second one was more about the business side – how analytics fits into Eversource's AMI program. We talked about metrics like how often meters connect, voltage alerts, spotting outages, and how dashboards help the field teams. They liked it when you could link technical results to how it helps operations. Behavioral questions were standard: 'Tell me about yourself,' 'Tell me about a tough data problem you solved,' and 'How do you present data insights to people who don't know tech?' They wanted clear answers with actual examples, not just book smarts.

I had a phone interview with the recruiter for Transmission. They asked about my experience. Even though I got an email saying I met the minimum qualifications, the recruiter made it clear that because I lacked a utility/engineering background, I wouldn't get the job, despite those not being listed as requirements in the job description.
