I was an intern for production process maintenance and had an interview to see if I could stay. The atmosphere was good, and the interview was easygoing. They were empathetic and kind, and the technicians were good at teaching.

I had 4 interviews, 2 with people within the department: hiring manager and +2 along with 1 person from HR and one from the business. The presentation of the company and culture was interesting and additional information compared to what was available online.

Behavioral Technical

It started with a recruiter and took forever. I know things can get messed up with a middleman but they dropped the ball a lot, both the recruiting company and Essilor. I talked on the phone with a recruiter, then had an in-person interview and tour at the factory a week later with the shift supervisor. The supervisor was cool, but I could tell he really needed people right away and asked how soon I could start. I could start immediately since I was jobless for a few months during the pandemic. I was also applying for other jobs then. I never heard back after the in-person interview, even though they seemed urgent, so I took another job. The recruiter called me 4 months later, asking if I still wanted the job and if Essilor had contacted me because they really wanted to hire me. I told them no, neither they nor Essilor had reached out. The fact that I slipped through the cracks or they went through people quickly and are now calling me, even though the supervisor wanted me to start the next Monday, makes me think I dodged a bullet. They asked me to reconsider and said they might increase my pay, but they'd need to check with Essilor. I declined. So, the interview was way too easy because they have high turnover, can't say anything about the job itself since I didn't take it.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started with an introduction about yourself, your past experiences, and your motivation for the position. Since you're already in the service department, there was also a lot of talk about the atmosphere and team spirit. At Essilor, this department often works internationally, so the next part of the interview was in English to discuss personal and professional aspirations. It concluded in French, detailing potential training and company benefits.
