First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equinox.
People and Culture Specialist
The interview process was super efficient and smooth, way better than I've seen in other industries. I was kinda skeptical if applying on LinkedIn would even get to a recruiter, but nope, it worked! It was a mix of initial phone chats, quick Teams/Zoom calls, and then final in-person interviews. Giovana and the team were really open, genuine, and made me feel supported. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks, though some of that was due to my own schedule conflicts.
- Considering Equinox's diverse employee base (both club and corporate), how would your past experiences influence your approach to solving the [XYZ problem]?
Designer
I interviewed for a design position, and it went through several rounds, ending with a meeting with senior leadership. The whole experience felt positive, with good conversations, easy scheduling, and mutual interest. But then, the recruiter went silent. No updates, no explanation, and no replies to my follow-up messages. The job ad was removed without any notice to candidates who had put in time and effort. It was really disappointing to see such a lack of basic professional communication from a company that talks about high standards. If a job is put on hold, canceled, or filled, it's important to just communicate that. Ghosting candidates at the last stage really shows a disconnect between the company's image and how hiring is actually handled internally.
- Could you present some of your most significant portfolio projects?
Membership Advisor
It was a 3-round interview process. The first two were phone calls, and the last one was in person at the club. They seemed to be searching for candidates with prior experience as an Account Executive who closed big deals, which struck me as odd for an entry-level sales position that offers training on their sales methods. On the bright side, they were very prompt with their responses. The interviews themselves were laid-back, and everyone I talked to was really nice and easy to get along with.

Personal Trainer
The interview process was a mess and didn't work well, which made me frustrated and confused. It felt rushed and not structured, with unclear expectations and communication that wasn't consistent. The whole thing felt impersonal and unprofessional, and I often felt dismissed and neglected. Sometimes it was chaotic and overwhelming, and they didn't really care about my time or comfort. Not preparing or giving feedback made it even more stressful and off-putting, and the super formal approach felt like it wasn't related to what I wanted to learn. All in all, it was a really bad and unwelcoming experience.
