& Process

It was a multi-step process. First, an HR interview (video call, after a pre-selection via deferred video) to discuss my background, motivation, and interest in the role. Then, a technical interview (in-person) with questions about data, machine learning, and my projects. We also discussed practical cases and problem-solving approaches. The process was clear and well-organized.

The interview process was quite long, spanning two months. It started with a pre-selection interview at a recruitment agency, followed by a psychological interview also at the agency. The final stage was an in-person interview in Paris with Enedis. There was a noticeable gap between each interview, which actually gave me time to prepare thoroughly.

After passing the initial screening, I was invited to an optional preliminary interview, supposedly to help HR guide me for my real interview. Anyway, according to what they said, I could still proceed to the actual interview. So I accepted, hoping to find out what questions I could prepare beforehand. To my surprise, I received a rejection today, solely after this pre-interview. P.S. This pre-interview was just a series of questions with a timer for thinking and another for answering, with camera and mic on.

For the position of business manager in Clermont-Ferrand, I first had a video interview where I had to record myself answering several questions. Then, I had phone interviews with HR from Lyon, as well as a test to assess my profile. Following that, I had a physical interview that was supposed to be structured as follows: one hour with HR and one hour with the team leader for the position I applied for, totaling two hours of interviews. However, I had the team leader and the HR person in the same interview, which only lasted one hour. Other candidates were not interviewed the same way, so there was random fairness. During the interview, I mentioned that my wife would earn more than me and that I would have little chance of being mobile in the future. The fact that a husband earns less than his wife made the team leader laugh... After this interview, I was contacted by the team leader who told me in a few words that I should stay in my place and that it would be better for me to remain a contractor for ENEDIS rather than an employee, while confusing the activities I was doing. In short, a very bad interview experience. The ENEDIS site in Clermont-Ferrand is to be avoided at all costs; full of incompetent old boomers.
