Software Engineer
I had an hour-long coding round where I was asked to solve an ad-hoc problem. I only managed to solve about half of it. The interviewer was really focused on time, saying things like “I’ll give you 2 more minutes—can you finish it?”, making it feel like a time-pressure test instead of an assessment of problem-solving. Because of that rushed environment, I couldn’t answer some conceptual questions well either. The interviewer kept asking “Do you know this?” and “Do you know that?” without letting me think or explain my approach. I understand I didn’t perform well, but a few things stood out. There was no rejection email, which is a big red flag. The interview felt cramped and poorly structured, with no real attempt to understand my thought process. It was just a checklist of knowledge. Communication was also tough because the interviewer’s English wasn’t clear. The coding problem was rushed. 15 minutes for an unspecific ad-hoc problem, with constant time reminders, didn’t allow for demonstrating analytical or structured thinking. It’s actually good I didn’t do well, because I improved a lot within a month and got another job. But this interview left a bad impression because the process itself didn’t feel fair or well-designed.

Front End Developer
I went through their whole process, which I thought was long. In the end, I declined the offer because it was below what I was looking for. Something strange about this company is that they state you can't have a CNPJ for IT service provision under your CPF? Below are the steps I went through: 1. I applied for a job. 2. A recruiter contacted me and we had a meeting. 3. They advanced me to the technical stage. It was with two developers, who were kind and polite. They asked me a huge number of questions, some topics like JS, frontend, software engineering made sense... but they covered topics like threads, operating systems, Linux, etc., which had nothing to do with the role. It was the longest interview I've ever had, very much in a question<>answer style, and they also dedicated a few minutes to a technical challenge, they asked me to sort an array and it didn't need to be the most performant way, I used bubble sort. They also asked questions in English to assess me. 4. After the technical stage, I was informed I was not selected. 5. After a week, another recruiter informed me there was another opening. 6. I had another interview, this time with a developer and a manager. It was very relaxed, no tricks, and this time I felt the developer asked more relevant topics like JS, React, and accessibility. 7. After 1 or 2 days, the same recruiter called me for an offer call. 8. She made the offer, which had many good benefits but with a salary lower than what I was looking for, so I chose to decline.

Support Engineer
My interview experience with Encora was quite frustrating. The first round was technical and lasted about an hour. After that, I was set for a final face-to-face interview in Pune, which was on short notice. I had already booked my travel, but then HR called last minute saying I'd need to join immediately the next day if selected, which was a major issue given my travel plans. What really bothered me was the lack of clear information upfront. The HR initially said it was a remote night shift role, but then it changed to hybrid with no warning. They also said the salary was fixed and not negotiable. Because I couldn't agree to the immediate joining date, my final interview got cancelled. This whole process showed a lack of flexibility and left me with a very poor impression of their HR team's professionalism. If you're considering Encora, be sure to confirm all the details as they might change.

Junior Developer
The interview process started with a recruiter call with Ana Maria on 24/02/2023 at 14h00 in the 3rd-floor meeting room. This 30-minute session was for her to introduce the company, explain the role, and do an initial candidate assessment. Next, on 03/03/2023 at 10h00, there was a technical interview in the 2nd-floor training room with João Paulo, the Tech Lead. This lasted 60 minutes and focused on evaluating the candidate's technical skills. The final stage was a Technical Challenge, starting on 05/03/2023 with a deadline of 10/03/2023. This involved developing a group project to solve a practical problem, assessing creativity, technical skills, and teamwork.
