Associate Consultant
You get a call from a recruiter first, who asks you about yourself and how you'd fit the role. Then, you talk to a senior consultant. She seemed unhappy with the role and the type of people they were looking for. It's an entry-level job, but she wants someone who already knows the program because it takes too much time to teach new people. Also, they need you to live in a specific city, even though the job ad said it was remote. They also don't give you any updates and then ghost you.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What do you understand this role to be about?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Project Manager
I applied online and had a 1:1 with the recruiter. I was rejected initially. About a month later, the recruiter contacted me again because of a declining offer. I then had a call with the hiring manager, which went very well. I was expecting to proceed to the final round. After that, I had a call with the Recruiter to discuss salary, as I hadn't been informed about new tests. We agreed I would do the final round and then the tests. However, the recruiter misrepresented me to the hiring manager and essentially sabotaged my application. I found out I was eliminated when I asked about the case/presentation I was supposed to prepare. After over 15 years of experience, this was the most unprofessional hiring process I've encountered, with no accountability. I had to escalate to higher levels in the organization because I couldn't reach recruitment directly. A recruitment professional from the company called to apologize, but ultimately, the company decided not to proceed with my candidacy. They mentioned they'd consider me for future opportunities and that I'm not blacklisted, which is hard to believe given Ellucian is hiring for multiple roles. It's very difficult to accept this situation, and I cannot recommend this organization until new leadership addresses this behavior. It shows zero ethics and zero integrity.

Software Engineer
The interview process for Ellucian starts with resume shortlisting. Then, there's an online assessment with aptitude and coding questions (90 questions in 90 minutes, plus two coding problems). After that, a non-verbal aptitude test involving puzzles and picture-based questions. Finally, a physical interview round at the company office. The result is announced a couple of days after the physical interview.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you elaborate on the projects mentioned in your Resume?
- What are your core subjects like DBMS, OOPs, DSA?
Consultant
I had a screening with the recruiter first, where they asked about my basic qualifications. Then, I had a second interview with two managers, which was nice, but the recruiter was really pushy about scheduling even though I asked for flexibility because I was still working in the office. The final round was a panel interview with my potential team and manager. It started with a 10-minute presentation, and then the team asked some behavioral questions. They didn't have any questions about my presentation, though. A few days later, the same recruiter emailed to say I didn't get the job, and when I asked for feedback, they said there was none and it was "very close." It was a really frustrating experience because I got no scheduling flexibility despite explaining my situation, and I spent over 20 hours preparing for the interviews and presentation, only to be rejected with no feedback.
