So, there was an info session first, then three assessments. None of them were actual technical tests, mostly just logic questions and general aptitude stuff. It took a few hours and I felt like it might be tough for people with hidden disabilities since there weren't any other options. I got turned down after the assessments, didn't even make it to a third stage. It was a bummer to waste so much time on tests that didn't really seem to connect to the job itself. I wish there was a way to actually talk to someone or show off skills instead of just these tests.

Started with a 30-minute phone screen from the recruiter where we talked about my background, salary expectations, the job, and if I was a good fit. They were professional and told me what happens next and the timeline. Then, I had a virtual interview with the Hiring Manager that was supposed to be 45 minutes but went over 60. We talked a lot about technical skills, my analytical experience, and some behavioral stuff. They also told me about more interviews with the Director and VP, and that there might be assessments and reference checks. It all moved pretty fast from applying to the interviews, and they kept me in the loop.

My interview with EchoStar started off well. The person interviewing me was nice, treated me with respect, and gave me useful info about the job and company. But, in the end, I was let down. Before I even heard back about my application, they asked me to leave a good review on Glassdoor. Then, two days later, I got an automatic email saying I didn't get the job, with no personal message, feedback, or reason. It felt dishonest and unprofessional to ask for a positive review before deciding and then not communicate properly. I hope the company changes how it talks to candidates in the future.

The interview process was pretty straightforward with 2 steps. First, there was a primary interview to check eligibility. Then, an interview with an area supervisor for the final hiring decision. Although I got hired, I received conflicting information from three different people: the interviewer, the area manager, and the onboarding manager. This confusion led me to decline the job offer. I was initially told my travel for work would be compensated, but learned the day before that it wasn't. The job requires a 70+ mile drive one way for training, plus a week in Georgia, and I'd have to cover these travel costs upfront, then submit them for reimbursement. It's unclear when I'd actually get reimbursed - maybe right after training, or perhaps 3-6 months later. Also, the method for calculating travel compensation wasn't explained. They don't offer any per diem for out-of-state travel, meaning more upfront expenses for me. Because of these issues, I couldn't accept the job. Additionally, candidates need a clean driving record, a clean background check, and must pass a drug test.
