First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cyient.
Quality Engineer
The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked questions directly from my resume and we discussed projects. They also inquired about my experience with testing, and specifically about SDLC and Playwright, if I had hands-on experience with those. It was a good opportunity to showcase my skills if I had relevant experience.
- Could you explain what SDLC is?
- Can we go over the details on your resume?
- Tell me about the projects listed on your resume.
Technical Safety Engineer
The hiring process felt long and kinda unclear, making me wonder if they really needed to hire for the job. I had two interviews, and I felt they went pretty well. However, it took a while to hear back between each stage. After more than a week past the second interview, I got rejected. It wasn't because of how I did, but because the company decided not to fill the role after all. I get that business needs can change, but the slow communication and long waits were annoying and inconvenient. For jobs like this, in technical safety or chemical processes, I'd tell people to be ready for possible delays and for the company to change their hiring plans.
- Could you describe your approach if the system encountered an overpressure issue?
Software Engineer
So first, you apply online, or maybe through campus recruitment or a referral. Then, there's an online assessment which includes aptitude and technical questions. For technical roles, especially for freshers or associate positions, this test usually covers aptitude like quantitative, logical reasoning, and verbal questions. The technical part often has questions based on your resume or projects, and sometimes domain-specific ones depending on the role. For example, if it’s for a SAP/ABAP/Vistex module, they’ll test that.
- Tell me about your final year project or any project you've worked on.
- Could you tell me more about the project you worked on?
- What difficulties did you encounter while working on the project?
Python Backend Developer
The entire process from start to offer took about 3 weeks. First, HR reaches out for an initial screening to see if you're a good fit. Then, there's a second technical interview with the client. They ask detailed questions about AWS services, do some live coding (like setting up AWS services), and present scenario-based questions. Following that, a third round, also technical, dives deep into scenario-based AWS service questions, essentially system design. The final step is a phone call to discuss the offer.
- How would you connect EKS and an S3 bucket and design the system?
