First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co..
Consultant
The interview process was simple, though it took a while. The people I interviewed with were really nice. The only negative aspect of the job was that it was 100% commission based. All in all, I think it's a good company with a great culture.
- Can you discuss your past work experience?
Manager
First interview was with a supervisor asking questions he read off a paper taking a few notes, second interview was going over compensation plan. Both interviews started earlier than planned as I arrived early and they began right when I got there.
- Which two out of seven phrases describing the company stood out to you?
Agent Manager
The interview went pretty well. They asked about my background and career path. The interviewer was enthusiastic and explained things really clearly. It was a pretty straightforward conversation and I enjoyed it. He shared details about his own role and tenure at the company, outlined some of the benefits, and discussed how I could potentially build and lead my own team.
- Can you tell me about your professional background?
- What was the most challenging obstacle you've faced?
- Describe your proudest professional achievement.
Agency Development Manager
The interview process was really smooth and informational. The interviewer, in my case it was the agency owner, described each position, what the day-to-day looks like, the sales process used, and some of the products they offer. He also took the time to explain the turnover rate, what causes people to leave the sales industry, and certain things to look out for. The whole process was very informational and included the good, the bad, and everything in-between.
- What are your top three organizational preferences, and what are your 2-3 absolute must-haves for a job?
- Can you share one defining characteristic about yourself not evident on your resume or LinkedIn profile?
- Tell me about a past leader who stood out; what made them exceptional, and what did you learn from them?
