First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Co..
Sales Representative
The interview process was smooth and gave me a lot of information, but I found the pay structure a bit confusing because it sounds like it's only commission-based. The dress code was business casual. The interview was conducted over Zoom, and then I met with them in their office.
- Am I a self-motivated person?
Sales
It was a pretty chill interview. They basically wanted to see if I could handle the job. Most of the questions were about my previous jobs and how that experience would translate to this role. They also did a good job explaining what the job actually entails. If you're looking at this job, heads up, you'll need to study a lot to pass the insurance exam. So, if you're good at taking tests and learn fast, this job could be a good start for you. It was super laid back, and I could ask questions whenever I wanted.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
Sales Representative
You’ll talk to the Sales Director and the Regional Sales Director. It’s a 1 on 1 with each. First, there’s a pre-screening interview where you’ll rate yourself on skills/knowledge, answer open-ended questions like how you’ve shown leadership, and do a skills assessment. Then, you’ll have formal job interviews. Lastly, we do reference checking and negotiate the job offer.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in sales?
