& Process

Had a multi-day interview process where I used my last vacation days. Salary expectations were discussed on the initial phone call. I was told the team was interested, and my references were checked. However, weeks later, I was informed the budget didn't work out. This should have been determined beforehand, and I shouldn't have been interviewed if my salary wasn't within their budget, especially since it was discussed early on. I felt strung along when the process could have been shorter if they had just stated upfront that my salary was out of budget.

The interview process was easy and went well, although the interview was a good distance away. I arrived early and was acknowledged quickly. The interview was pretty basic with no really tough questions. I talked about my previous work experience and details of what my past jobs required. They asked why I left my previous employers and I gave truthful answers. They asked a lot of questions which were easy to answer. After the interview, I was taken around the store and introduced to some associates, which was nice. During the store tour, the interviewer asked some questions and I responded with answers. When the store tour ended, I was told I would hear back in a few days, and I did. I was informed that the job was mine and I accepted the offer over the phone. I started training the following week. The only issue I had was the store was just over 50 miles from my home. I did finish my training in two weeks and was assigned a store closer to home.

I was taken to the manager's office and asked to sit. We talked for about 10 minutes. They explained what they were looking for in a candidate and the duties of the job. Store policy was discussed. They asked about my availability for weekends and overtime. They mentioned that a background check is performed on all applicants being considered for a position.

Sent in my resume and got an email the next day for an interview. It was a really chill and easy interview, super relaxed. Just simple questions, and the whole thing took about 26 minutes. I got some drug test paperwork and they said I'd hear back by the end of the next day. They mentioned 4 weeks of training, and the only shifts available were 3pm-midnight or 6pm-midnight.
