Had a few interviews with some higher-up managers and executives. It was a positive, informative, and straightforward process. The team was very open and addressed all my questions and worries.

Applied online and heard back from an HR manager within a week to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was about an hour long and the HR manager was very nice and personable. After that, the HR manager said she wanted to set me up with the area District Manager for an interview. This interview also lasted about an hour. The conversation was more informal, like a free-flowing discussion rather than a list of questions. He was professional and pleasant and explained their management structure, noting that everyone starts as a department manager and then advances. I expressed concern about my salary requirements since I was an assistant manager before, and they said they would match my previous pay if I were selected. At the end, the DM mentioned he had more candidates to interview and I would be contacted about the outcome. Still waiting to hear back.

The initial phone screen was pretty standard. Then, I was sent to a local store for the actual interview. I didn't know who I'd be meeting with beforehand. I ended up interviewing with three different people, back-to-back.
