First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CareerBuilder.
Content Producer
I started with a phone screen from a really nice recruiter. Then I had one interview with two people on the team. They didn't ask super hard questions. The job was listed on CareerBuilder + Monster, but it turned out to be for Military.com, which would have been good to know beforehand so I could have prepped better. No other interviews happened after that. It took them weeks to get back to me, and then I found out they hired someone else.
- Can you tell me about your experience with HTML?
Marketing Coordinator
The interview process involves multiple rounds, starting with Zoom and then in-person interviews. It's rigorous but acceptable. Foreign candidates are directly interviewed by the owner. My place and interview place is quite far. only this is the problem. the rest thing are fine.
- Could you tell us about your strengths and weaknesses, and your qualifications?
Account Executive
I applied through a referral and a recruiter reached out. We had a phone interview, then an in-person one. It was disorganized because two of the three managers were supposed to interview me called out, so I interviewed with the remaining manager and the recruiter. Then I shadowed. After that, it seemed like I might get an offer, but then the manager who interviewed me quit. So I had to have another phone interview with the other two managers. I got past that. The final step was a call with the VP, who grilled me. I thought it went well, but I got a rejection email a few days later. Another manager quit after that.

Account Executive
I applied on LinkedIn and got contacted by someone a few days later. First, I had a phone screening with an HR person. They asked me typical background questions and told me more about the role. Then, I had an in-person interview with two managers and the HR person. They asked questions about how I could help them meet their metrics and if my experience was a good fit for the role. After the weekend, they called me with the offer, and I accepted.
