Inside Sales
It started with a phone interview that was pretty straightforward; I just needed to sound competent and talk about my office experience, including any sales or cold calling I'd done. After that, there was an in-person interview with two hiring managers. Even though the place seemed fun, I was a bit intimidated by them, and since it was my first real interview after college, I'm sure it showed. It wasn't a terrible interview process overall, but some of their questions really caught me off guard, partly because I didn't prepare as well as I could have. If you get past the phone call, they give you a list of potential questions, and naturally, they asked the one I had the weakest answer for.
- Can you tell me about your greatest weakness?
Sales Representative
A junior recruiter asked me some basic questions to see if I should proceed to a full phone interview. Even though I have 20 years of experience in recruitment sales, they decided I was "unqualified" to sell CB ads.
- Can you describe your ratio of existing clients to new business development?
Sales Representative
I had a phone prescreening, then I went in for a face to face interview. It was pretty standard for a sales gig. The ASM gave me a lot of good info about the company and what it's like to work there, the good and the bad. We planned for an hour but it went way over, almost 2 hours, which is expected when two sales people are talking. They seemed really happy with how it went and I think we'll be scheduling a second interview soon.
- How would you handle a situation where an HR manager is preventing you from speaking with other managers within the company?
