First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Booz & Company.
Software Architect
The interview process was pleasant and quite direct. It covered standard Cyber security questions, along with some software development and cloud systems inquiries. The interviewers were laid-back, making for a solid overall experience. One thing I wish the recruiter had been more upfront about was salaries, as I was given a range pre-interview but received an offer nearly 70k less afterward.

Associate III
I applied through a contact who introduced me to the recruiter. They initially mentioned a 6-8 week timeline, but because I had another offer from a strategy consulting firm, they were great and sped things up. I had a first phone screen with HR. Then, a phone interview with a principal that included fit questions, industry-specific questions, and a mini-case to assess problem structuring. The final round was in the office with 3 partners. All interviews had elements of fit, problem structure, and innovative thinking (thinking on your feet) related to general industry problems. Really impressive people and a fantastic interview process with good compensation.

Associate
I applied online in November 2013 and the whole thing took about 3 months. About two weeks after applying, I got an email from a recruiter to schedule a phone screen. This initial call was mainly to get basic info about Booz and for them to ask me some behavioral questions about how my skills would match what they're looking for. After passing that, I had a phone interview with a principal that was about 50 minutes long. Then, I spoke with a senior associate on the phone for about 45 minutes. Following those calls, I was invited to come in for a full day of interviews. This in-person part involved three interviews with two principals and one senior associate. It was mostly behavioral questions with two case studies thrown in. The interviewers were pretty chill and easy to talk to. The case studies were standard if you're used to doing them. I did this in-person interview on the third Friday in January. I heard back the following Tuesday, and they said they wanted to make me an offer. I got the official offer about a week later. After some negotiation, I accepted the job the week after that.
- In what ways can your skills benefit Booz should you be hired?
- What kind of value do you think you would contribute?
Intern
The interview process involved two 1:1 45-minute interviews, one with an associate and another with a principal. Both interviews included case studies. The first case was a market sizing question, and the second was an abstract business operations case. There were also general fit questions and a discussion about CV experiences. This was the first round. The second round followed the same format but with two senior company employees. Overall, it was an interesting and enjoyable experience as the interviewers were very nice, but it was challenging.
