So the interviews are basically a mix of behavioral questions and case studies. For the behavioral part, they'll ask you stuff about your past experiences to see if you're a good fit for the company. They also ask standard questions to check out your leadership skills, how well you can analyze things, and how good you are at communicating, both in writing and when you speak. Depending on the level you're applying for, the case studies might be about a specific industry or more general.

I got referred by a friend as an experienced hire and actually applied to two different service lines. The first group I was interested in didn't get back to me, but I saw another job posting for a different group and asked the recruiter if she could pass my info along to the hiring manager. This kicked off a pretty long, 3-month interview process. It ended up being 8 interviews in total: I spoke with both a national and a local recruiter, had two phone interviews, and then four in-person interviews. During the process, I was given 4 case studies. One was about restructuring a Finance department, another involved some basic business math, a third was a role-playing scenario about managing a client, and the last one was about strategic problem-solving. Overall, it was a really comprehensive, friendly, and engaging process. I definitely studied harder for these interviews than for any other I've had, and it paid off. I think the key was making sure my answers were always super clear and concise.
- Can you tell me why you applied for this role?
- Given that a client aims to achieve $30M in savings within the next year via employee layoffs, will this plan be sufficient? Are there alternative strategies for increasing savings?
- Imagine I am your client's CFO and I'm very resistant to hiring Booz. How would you persuade me of the value Booz could bring to my department?

Got the interview via referral from someone who knew about my past startup. They were flexible in scheduling the first round, which included two in-person interviews with a Principal and a Partner. The Principal was quite aggressive, focusing heavily on the fact I didn't have an MBA, while the Partner was much more relaxed and friendly. I was invited to a second round, but it was abruptly canceled with a generic explanation about HR recruitment limits for the year, which was frustrating due to the late notice.
