The interview process was quite lengthy and disorganized, with poor communication throughout. A significant part of it involved a presentation where I had to create a PowerPoint about myself, my career history, and other details not already on my resume. This felt redundant as it covered information already discussed in previous interviews, making it seem like a wasted effort. Apart from this presentation requirement, the rest of the interview process was fairly standard, but due to the unnecessary presentation, I've rated it as difficult.

I had a total of 5 rounds for the Mechanical Engineer position. It started with HR asking simple questions about my past experience. Then there was a technical round with an engineer, followed by 5 rounds with different cross-functional teams. Finally, there was a behavioral round and an HR round.

So I had a phone screen with the Recruiter first, then a 30 min call where I had to tell the hiring manager she was late for her next meeting. After that, I met with two senior people from the department. The next day, they set me up for 5 more Zoom interviews over two days. I met the first two on Monday and sent my Thank You notes. Tuesday, I was waiting for the first of three interviewers to join the Zoom, and about 10 minutes into our 30-minute slot, I emailed the Recruiter to see if the person was running late or not showing up. I had my phone silenced for the interviews, so I missed her call back, but her voicemail said, "sorry we had to cancel, we'll reach out to reschedule." It's been 10 days, and the Recruiter hasn't replied to my 2 emails or the voicemail I left. This is for a senior HR position, and the fact that they totally ghosted me after I'd already gone through three rounds, and then made me wait 10 minutes for an interview they forgot to cancel, is just ridiculous.

A recruiter from another job board reached out to me. First, I had a call with the recruiter, and then I spoke with the hiring manager for about 45 minutes. After that, I went through 7 panel interviews, each lasting 30 minutes. An HR person was supposed to join at the end to wrap things up but didn't show up. Then, the recruiter called me back with positive feedback and asked for my references. After waiting a week without any updates, I followed up. It turned out there was a hiring freeze, so they couldn't offer me the job. It feels like the HR folks knew about the freeze and wasted my time with the interviews.
