Patient Access Representative
I was getting text messages from a weird number not associated with BJC. When you call the number, no one answers, it goes straight to voicemail. They would take days to respond to the text messages or not respond at all. One rep set up an interview, never did the interview, and marked my application as not selected. The other rep did do an interview and then ghosted me after I said I quit working fulltime in 2021 because of a COVID infection, never heard back, and marked my application as not selected. This interview was for a part-time job.
- What is your motivation for seeking this position?
Healthcare Assistant
So at BJC Healthcare, the interview was pretty set up. First, they did a quick call to chat about my background and why I'm into healthcare. Then, I had to go in person or do it online with the manager and someone from the team. They asked me stuff like what I'd do in certain patient care or teamwork scenarios. They really cared about patient safety and working together. It was pretty detailed but not too complicated, and everyone was nice and helpful.
- What steps would you take if a patient becomes upset because they've been waiting a long time?
Practice Manager
The hiring process started with a talent acquisition screen, followed by two phone interviews. Since multiple locations were hiring, I spoke with hiring managers for those respective locations. Then there was a long wait of nine weeks. During this time, I interviewed for three different positions within BJC Medical Group, and ultimately found another role within the same organization. While I was a leader with relevant experience and a graduate degree, and the job required leadership, an official decline would have been polite.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to resolve a conflict and how you handled it?
Marketing Consultant
I was first contacted by a recruiter. Then, I had a virtual interview with a manager via Teams. It was pretty standard, with behavioral questions about my experience and time for me to ask questions. The interviewer seemed uninterested, which was a hint of what was to come. At the end, I was asked to create and submit a marketing plan after the weekend. I spent my free time on it and sent it in. I heard nothing back for 4 days, so I followed up. Shortly after, the recruiter emailed saying I wasn't selected. It felt disingenuous to ask for a marketing plan without being responsive. This experience made me rethink the organization's recruiting process. My time wasn't considered.
- Can you tell me about a challenge you faced and how you dealt with it?
