Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Applied online. Started with a recruiter call. Then a manager screen where we talked a lot about my resume and the team's goals, and if it was a good match. We covered terraform, kubernetes, on-call, and general SRE topics. The manager said they would move me forward. After a month-long wait, they scheduled the next interviews. I had an interview with two people, which went well. We discussed kubernetes and coding. There was supposed to be a debugging session, but their k8s cluster wasn't working, so we just talked about potential issues and my debugging approaches, focusing heavily on k8s again. This went fine. Next, I interviewed with two more team members. One interviewer dominated the conversation and repeatedly interrupted the other. They wanted to do a system design, but couldn't draw, so I shared an excalidraw link. We designed a web app, and they kept adding scaling scenarios and asked for solutions. They seemed to struggle with concluding the interview, asking several more questions after saying it was the last one. I had to ask for clarification sometimes because their questions weren't always clear. This interviewer was very opinionated, calling Ansible 'garbage' but then said they wouldn't hold my background from company X against me, which was a strange comment. I stayed focused and finished the interview, which also went well. The recruiter then informed me about an additional 1-hour behavioral round. By this time, I had received and accepted a better offer elsewhere, so I withdrew my application. Most people, including the recruiter, were professional and pleasant to work with, except for the one opinionated interviewer.

Technical Support Engineer
I got referred by someone I know. First, I talked to a recruiter who got my info and said there would be about two more interviews: one for culture fit and one technical. The next interview was with the team director and two managers. We seemed to click until the end when they hit me with some technical questions. They were mostly troubleshooting scenarios that were super vague. Even with 5 years of IT and support experience, I struggled to give them what they wanted. Questions like 'Someone can't remote into a server, what do you do?' have a ton of variables. I tried to cover every possibility and troubleshooting step I could think of. The last four questions were direct tech questions: two about Linux, one about SQL, and one about Windows. I was honest about not using Linux much recently, but after a moment, I think I handled them okay, except for mixing up 'root' and 'super user' for the most privileged user. I nailed the Windows and SQL questions. Despite this, I didn't get the job. The feedback was that I lacked the necessary technical knowledge and couldn't be trained up, which contradicts what my contact at the company said. They also mentioned the job wouldn't involve much Linux work. I felt some questions were intentionally unclear and the direct OS questions were unnecessary. Overall, the team seemed supportive, but the role is vague and customer-facing. I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone wanting to avoid customer interaction. Also, ladies, be cautious.

Solutions Engineer
The interview process at BeyondTrust was super organized and explained from the start, which made things smooth and engaging. It had four steps: First, a Discovery Call with the Acquisition Coordinator to chat about the job, my experience, and what I was looking for. Second, an interview with the Hiring Manager to really dig into my background, skills, and how I'd fit in. Third, a Panel Discussion and Presentation where I got to show off what I know and how I solve problems. Finally, an Executive Interview to make sure we were aligned on company values, the big picture, and if I was a good long-term fit. They kept me in the loop the whole time, so I always knew what was coming next. The team was great, really supportive and professional, making it a good experience for candidates.
- Could you describe a past cybersecurity challenge you've managed?
Software Engineer
The overall experience was amazing. The HR is very responsible, helpful and response very fast. And same to the hiring manager and her team members, everyone is awesome. My interview process consists of two stages: 1. HR round 2. Tech round but also includes behavior questions and team meet. Apparently this is a simplified flow possibly due to holiday season or urgent hire, which express great flexibility of BeyondTrust. The tech round is more like a casual conversation rather than Q&A or hands on coding assessment. The interviewers are very knowledgable and professional. You are asked to describe your previous projects and they will ask tech details from there. They also ask your opinion on certain technologies. Again, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Best interview experience. Btw, I finished tech interview in the morning and got the offer in the afternoon same day. You rarely see this from other companies.
- What is your opinion on Typescript in frontend development?
- Can you tell me about your recent successful project and its tech details?
- Could you detail your previous RestAPI project, including its use, design, and implementation?
