The recruiter was great and had excellent communication, setting a positive tone. My first interview was a brief 15-minute phone call. This was followed by a 1-hour conversational video interview with direct technical questions. Although I was a close second for the initial role, I was offered the same position on two other teams. I accepted, and then had a second 1-hour interview with the two hiring managers, which was also conversational with targeted tech questions. I received and accepted an offer for one of the teams.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • It was a very conversational interview, with some behavioral questions mixed in. From a technical standpoint, we talked about APIs, cloud-based architectures, and system design.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The overall experience was amazing. The HR is very responsible, helpful and response very fast. And same to the hiring manager and her team members, everyone is awesome. My interview process consists of two stages: 1. HR round 2. Tech round but also includes behavior questions and team meet. Apparently this is a simplified flow possibly due to holiday season or urgent hire, which express great flexibility of BeyondTrust. The tech round is more like a casual conversation rather than Q&A or hands on coding assessment. The interviewers are very knowledgable and professional. You are asked to describe your previous projects and they will ask tech details from there. They also ask your opinion on certain technologies. Again, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Best interview experience. Btw, I finished tech interview in the morning and got the offer in the afternoon same day. You rarely see this from other companies.

So I had this interview for a Software Engineer position, it was close to my home, which is why I applied even though I have 10 years of experience and it was for a Junior position. First, there was a phone call, about 20 minutes, just a basic screening about my background and current job. Then, a week later, a second call to check my technical skills, which I think went okay, I answered most questions fine. Then, a week after that, I went for a face-to-face interview. The first few people interviewed me separately, asking me to solve problems and explain solutions. This went well, and I felt good about it. But then, some other interviewers were really not great. One guy was in a bad mood and asked irrelevant questions about my English and Spanish levels, and my green card/work permit status, even though that was already cleared. He kept pressing for details and acted like he didn't understand me, making me nervous and feeling humiliated. He was very particular about how I wrote code on the whiteboard, almost dictating it, and seemed annoyed by small mistakes. He also questioned my answer about virtual methods in C#. The last person just briefly introduced himself and asked if I had questions, seeming like he didn't have much time. The first few interviewers were nice, but the rest made the experience stressful and unwelcoming, leaving me feeling sick.
