There were 3 interviews: a fit interview, a case study, and a partner interview. The fit interview was with a team consultant and covered my motivations and allowed me to ask questions. The case study, led by the manager, was based on a real, anonymized team project and required me to outline a mission execution methodology. The final interview with the partner was a validation stage, discussing my master's thesis topic, other CV aspects, and motivations. Overall, a very pleasant experience across all three interviews.

The interview process at BearingPoint was serious and professional. My conversation with HR was smooth and supportive, giving me a clear understanding of the projects involved (long-term missions, often funded by donors, with a strong focus on governance and field execution). The fit questions were relevant, focusing on my genuine motivation, my grasp of African challenges, and my ability to connect strategic vision with operational reality. The case study part was demanding: a good initial framing and many clarification questions are expected. Without these, it's hard to build a structured response. Overall, it was an enriching and formative experience, with a level of rigor consistent with BearingPoint's positioning.

First, a chat with the Manager. We'll start with introductions, then I'll give you a rundown of the job opening. After that, you'll walk us through your resume. We'll dig into your resume and ask about how you'd handle typical consulting scenarios. Then, a brainteaser. Finally, you can ask us questions. Second, a chat with the Partner. They'll introduce themselves, and we'll discuss your motivation and expectations. Then, they'll ask you some questions about the company.

I had three interviews with BearingPoint: first a chat with HR, then two interviews with senior managers. The discussions were constructive, professional, and went very well. The role seemed like a good fit for me and the immediate feedback was positive. Unfortunately, after these interviews, I heard nothing back. I followed up several times, with no response. No decision was communicated, no feedback, not even to close the process. A regrettable lack of consideration after I invested time and energy in the process. Overall the experience felt like a waste of time. Too bad, especially for a firm that positions itself as demanding and structured.
