Associate Director
I applied directly and heard back from HR within a few weeks about a phone call. They forgot to call initially but did reach out after I sent a follow-up email. The conversation went well until compensation came up. HR couldn't provide a salary range or confirm if it matched my last compensation. They never got back to me after that, so I was ghosted. It seems like the compensation might be below market rate, and the HR person was unprofessional, unable to discuss or reply. Based on other reviews, it seems like incompetent HR is a common issue.
- Can you walk me through your previous experience and what motivates you to apply for this position?
Summer Analyst
The interview process started with a phone interview. After that, I was shortlisted for an Assessment Centre (AC). The AC involved back-to-back interviews with Managing Directors (MDs) and also an assessment of my networking skills with current employees. It was well organised and they told us who our interviewers would be beforehand. We also got to state our desk preferences before the AC, and they tried to place us on those desks, but ultimately it was up to the MD if they wanted you on their desk.

Portfolio Oversight and Management Support Analyst
I interviewed in August 2023 and the process was pretty straightforward with two interview rounds. It felt like the interviewers weren't coordinating because many of the questions were repeated across both interviews. Mostly, they asked behavioural questions. HR communication was lacking; I had to ask for clarification twice and they didn't seem very engaged. The HR person initially said it would be all behavioural questions, but then the interviewers asked some technical questions about funds, which would have been fine if they had mentioned it beforehand. HR also called for feedback discussions which could have easily been an email. They ghosted me in the end, not even sending a rejection email. Seeing that some people on the team have been there for 15-20 years suggests something about the company culture. Overall, it was a bad experience and I wouldn't apply again.

- Can you discuss some technical aspects of funds?
Private Credit Analyst
The interview process started with a phone screen with HR, followed by a 30-minute Zoom with an associate director, and then another 30-minute Zoom with an MD. The final stage was a 3-hour superday with 5-6 MDs. This firm was pretty sloppy, with scheduling problems due to them taking vacations at the same time interviews were happening. It took me 2 months to complete the process, and they ended up ghosting me. This happened after I told them I had an offer, which forced them to rush the superday. They mentioned expecting work hours of 60-70 a week, and some associate directors are not very sociable. Overall, not a great shop, unprofessional, and the management is slightly neurotic.
