I applied for an internship at Ball Corporation. First, I had a very standard HR interview about my major, my availability for an internship, and my skills. Then, I was called to the company and did an Excel activity where they gave me a spreadsheet and I had to organize it and do some basic calculations, nothing advanced. On the same day, I had an interview with the engineering manager where he explained my role and daily tasks and asked me generic questions. I was approved.

The interview process included an online test as the first round. The second round was a technical interview focusing on DSA, specifically dynamic programming and graphs. Following that, there was a third round for project discussion and system design. The final round, the fourth, was an HR interview where they asked about the company's values and used situation-based questions.

First up was an HR interview where we talked through my CV and they asked about my salary expectations. Then, I had an interview with the direct manager, which was pretty standard compared to the others. The third round was with the manager's boss, and it was a bit of a mixed bag; they asked regular questions but didn't really explain what they were looking for very clearly. Overall, it was a positive experience and the process went smoothly, but they ended up hiring someone internal.

The interview process started with a phone screen, followed by three more rounds where I spoke with leaders from other departments and people on the team I'd be joining. The questions were pretty standard. The interviewers were good about explaining the work environment and any challenges. The hiring team seemed nice and like they'd be easy to work with. It's a well-established manufacturing company, so things tend to be traditional and change can be slow. The recruiter was pretty much absent after the initial stages, barely involved beyond administrative tasks. This lack of communication made me less interested as the process went on.

  • Have you worked in a global manufacturing company before?
