It kicked off with an HR pre-screen, then a screening call with HR. Next, the hiring manager gave me a pre-screen phone interview. This was followed by an in-person interview that lasted 2 hours with the hiring manager, the reporting manager, and the VP. They then decided to do a follow-up phone interview with the hiring manager and the reporting manager since they felt they hadn't asked the right questions during the prior in-person meeting. In the end, I was informed via LinkedIn that I wouldn't be getting the offer. The manager who would have been my direct report then reposted the job without checking with HR if I had been told I didn't make it.
After applying, I got online assessments a while later. Then, I had an interview with two senior people from the department, not HR, and ended up on the reserve list. A few months passed before I got a job offer. HR was a bit slow, but really nice and helpful when they did reach out, and they made it clear I could ask questions anytime.
I had an informal chat with two women from the department. They were really nice and made me feel comfortable. They explained a lot about why the job opened up and what they expect from candidates.
