A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn and I set up an intro call to learn about the role. It went well, and I heard back quickly that the hiring team wanted to do a virtual interview. During that, the managers said they'd keep me updated and let me know within a week or two. They also asked me to do a design assessment based on a brief. I was a bit surprised since they said it was a mid to senior role. After I submitted my project, I didn't hear anything until the recruiter told me they went with someone else over three weeks later. I kind of figured that was the case by then because of the silence.

Applied online late 2025 and spoke with a recruiter. The recruiter asked standard screening questions, checked alignment on pay and start date. She pressured me to state a number, which I didn't appreciate. She said they committed to a 24-48 hour response, but a week later I was informed I wouldn't be invited to speak with anyone else at the company. Apparently, this is a dying company and AI will replace the recruiter.

Behavioral Technical System Design

First there was an HR Screening Round, nothing too complicated, they just wanted to understand my background. Then a Technical round (45min) - I only made it this far. It wasn't difficult, mostly about what I've done, focusing on architecture and system design. After that, they'd share an online test, maybe an aptitude test - I didn't move to this round. Then a Deep technical round - I did move to this one. And finally an HR offer round - I also moved to this. The HR and interviewers were all super nice, treating the interview like a conversation. I think it's a nice org to join, especially now as they're setting up their office in Pune, India.

First, they asked me to design a solution for their CI/CD pipeline and email it. After that, we had a discussion. Then, I was constantly following up with HR, but they were neither responding to my SMS nor my calls. They usually replied with 'I will call you back,' but that call never came. This whole process felt like a trick to socialize their company, etc. The people were non-professional and lacked etiquette.
