I talked to the store manager and then the district manager. They each asked me about five questions, pretty basic stuff about my retail background, why I was interested in Zales, and what made me apply.

I had a zoom interview with thorough questions. It was very situational and based on my work experience. The interviewers were kind and personable, but they asked about my experiences and how they fit the role they needed to fill.

So you apply, and then there's a background check. If that goes well, they send you a virtual job tryout, which is basically an online aptitude test. Based on your resume, VJT score, and passing the background check, they'll call you for an interview. Mine was about two days after the call. The interview itself was pretty simple, asking about my resume, experience, and how it applies to the job. They also asked how I thought I'd perform and contribute. They told me a lot about Zales/Signet and their programs, which has been accurate so far. I got the job offer right after I got home from the interview.

Behavioral

I applied online and got a call within a week for an interview. The manager interviewed me in a backroom that was also used for storage and as a break room. I kind of thought we might talk in the coffee shop next door. The interview was pretty normal, but two things were weird. First, they didn't say if the job was full-time seasonal or temporary part-time, or even ask about my availability. Second, when I asked about a decision timeline, they said they'd call me either way once they decided. It's been over a month, so I guess they lost my number.
