Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zales Jewelers.
Sales Associate
I had a zoom interview with thorough questions. It was very situational and based on my work experience. The interviewers were kind and personable, but they asked about my experiences and how they fit the role they needed to fill.
- Tell me about your leadership experiences.
- Did the people you led follow through with your guidance?
Sales Associate
I applied online and got a call within a week for an interview. The manager interviewed me in a backroom that was also used for storage and as a break room. I kind of thought we might talk in the coffee shop next door. The interview was pretty normal, but two things were weird. First, they didn't say if the job was full-time seasonal or temporary part-time, or even ask about my availability. Second, when I asked about a decision timeline, they said they'd call me either way once they decided. It's been over a month, so I guess they lost my number.
- What are your thoughts on credit card applications?
Sales Associate
It wasn't too intense, they just wanted to get a feel for my personality and ask some other things. I wore black pants and a white tank top with a cardigan. I got there 10 minutes early and the manager noticed, saying something about it. I said I'm always early, and if I'm late, something's wrong, and we had a laugh. It was my first interview ever and I was really nervous, but his laughing helped me chill out a bit. He was super nice, and I stumbled on my words when starting my answers, stopping to apologize, taking a deep breath, and then answering again.
- What makes you want to be in jewelry sales?
