First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Xometry.
UX Writing Intern
I had a screening call with the recruiter, then an individual interview with the project manager. The final interview was a presentation where I had to go over a UX case study with three design team members. It was a bit rough because when the second interview was set up, they didn't tell me I needed a presentation ready, even though I asked a few times before if I should prep anything. I had to reschedule, which was tough because they were slow to respond. Also, I needed them to let me know their decision within the week because I had other offers, but it took them 2.5 weeks to send an offer and they were really unresponsive by email.
- Can you discuss your design choices and the reasoning behind them?
Account Executive
So my interview process with Xometry was kinda long, but overall it was okay. The recruiter I talked to was great, really nice and always available to answer my questions. First, I had an interview with the recruiter, then a two-part interview with two directors, which wasn't too tough. After that, I had to do a mock sales presentation using a deck and scenario they gave me. Then, another interview with a Director, followed by a final chat with another Senior Account Executive. It was a bit confusing because I got conflicting info on who the actual hiring manager was, as they were apparently hiring for two positions. I'd been getting pretty good feedback up to this point and felt good about making it to the final round, which was supposed to be with the VP of sales. A few days later though, they told me they hired someone else. Kinda surprising, but maybe it's for the best given some of the bad reviews I've seen. The whole thing took less than 3 weeks.
- What makes you want to work for Xometry?
Human Resources
So basically the interview process was unprofessional and haphazard. After the first screening call, the recruiter called back to schedule the next round and then asked me more questions that they 'forgot to ask' initially. I went through 2 more rounds of interviews, which included being onsite for 3 hours. Then I got an automated rejection email that goes out to everyone who submits a resume. Considering how much time and energy I put into their interview process, this was totally unacceptable. I wouldn't have accepted an offer anyway because I saw a lot of red flags during the process that indicated a toxic & overworked environment.
- Where do you live?
Salesforce Administrator
Had a quick 5-10 min call to schedule the technical screening. The technical screening itself was about an hour long, covering basic Salesforce knowledge to see if I was a good fit for the next stage. The final interview was a 3-hour block. The first hour involved working with current admins in a TrailHead environment to solve some problems. The second hour was with Software Developers, discussing how I'd handle discovery and problem-solve a business case where they felt Salesforce would be the solution. The last hour was with the Director of the team, where I could ask them questions about the company.
- Could you explain how to configure a notification on a contact record that triggers three hours after a particular picklist value is selected?
