First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Wren Kitchens.
Surveyor
First, there was a phone screen that felt like talking to an AI, the person on the other end sounded like they didn't want to be there. Then, a Microsoft Teams interview with a nice supervisor went well, and I got an offer for a final interview. The final interview was disorganized; the interviewer didn't turn on their camera, and it felt like they were trying to discourage me, possibly because I have a degree in surveying and they thought I was overqualified. I didn't get an offer, which I see as a good thing given the company's poor reviews about staff treatment. I probably would have declined anyway.
- Why do you want to work for wren?
Project Coordinator
It was a really nice and welcoming experience. First, I introduced myself and talked about my background and education. Then, they explained the requirements of the role and asked some questions to see if I'd be a good fit.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
- How do you think you would fit with our company culture?
Customer Service Team Manager
It was a question and scenario based session. There were two interviewers. One interviewer was at the same level as the position and the other was the line manager. They asked questions about values and theoretical approaches, using customer and team development situations.
- How would you address the need to implement performance monitoring for a team member?
Kitchen Designer
It was a really relaxed chat, very laid-back. The person I spoke with was super approachable and down-to-earth. They weren't trying to trick me or anything. It felt like they cared more about my personality and whether I could learn and grow, not just what I'd done before.
- What skills do you have that would work well for this job?
