I sent in my application online and then the HR reached out to me via email. After I had a call with HR, they set up a meeting for me with the hiring manager and the VP of IT. We talked about my experiences and projects and the tech stacks I used in my projects.

They invited me to a coffee shop for an interview with a group of their regional managers. It started with some casual conversation, then moved into the actual interview. They asked about me, why I want the job, and past experiences handling specific sales situations. They also inquired about my knowledge of the phone sales industry and our products, including phones and network updates. Finally, they asked about my commitment to learning and growing within the role, mentioning a 2-year commitment for me and a 1-year commitment for a friend, which apparently increases the chances of getting the job. I felt I could relax a bit at this point. They asked about my life, hobbies, and phone preferences. They seem to look for driven sales people who are passionate about the product and committed for at least a year, acknowledging that it takes about 3 months to overcome initial mistakes and 6 months to be fully confident in the sales process. Personality-wise, they want someone who can read the room and adapt to customer needs, and while being a social butterfly helps, it's not essential. They gave examples of different sales approaches that seem to work, like my assistant manager's consistent pitching despite low energy, and my manager's high-energy, expressive style. So, they're open to various approaches, and I should be confident.

I saw the job opening on LinkedIn and applied through the company's website. A recruiter then reached out to schedule a phone interview. During that call, the recruiter mentioned my qualifications might fit another role and asked if I was interested. She said someone else would contact me in a few days. It actually took three weeks before I got a second phone interview. For that one, I had to provide some sample training material. After that, I was passed on to the Director of Sales. He seemed pretty uninterested in interviewing me, actually telling me he already had someone in mind – a former employee from Best Buy. I followed up via email about the position, and two weeks later, I got an email saying I was rejected.

Behavioral

I was Googling "Behavioral Interview Questions" and they said to use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). I interviewed with 2 store managers and it was different for everyone. I had a friend get asked inappropriate questions not related to the job or their experience. It took some people forever to hear back, others were very quick. There was NO ORGANIZATION, they had a packet of questions but made up most of them and took very few notes. It was a weird interview, hard to explain. My experience with Wireless Vision has been bad from the start.

  • Tell me about a time you had to break policy for a customer and explain your reasoning.
