The interview was held over Zoom and involved several managers who were each looking for interns for their teams. I was asked to go over my resume and talk about some important parts of my past work experience, personal projects, and schoolwork. After the interview, I was told I'd hear back soon, but I never did.

I applied for this job and the whole process was long painful experience from application to interview stage. Firstly, they didn't have a salary range and you had to put a desired salary, I mean what do you do with this? So I put forward a figure that I believed I was worth. A couple of months went by and I was asked to attend an interview. Before I said yes, I asked the internal recruiter (via email) if the salary expectations would be met, as I didn't want to waste my time, and also, their time. They said it was at the upper end, but that it was okay. So I went ahead with the interview, which went well. Three people interviewed me over Teams, and I answered all of their questions in a comprehensive way. They said they would be in touch and then I waited. Then I received an email stating the salary was £20k less than I had asked for on my application. I was shocked at how they wasted my time and told them this. They said maybe they could work with me, and 3 months went by and still no communication. In the end I emailed them and told them I had been offered a better job. A day later, they sent an email saying I was not successful from a Do-not-reply automated email - complete shambles, as I would work for them as they act in a highly unprofessional manner.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

first there was an interview with the hiring manager where we went over my background and general questions, and then they asked about my experience with background research. after that, I had a technical interview with two other engineers where we dove deeper into my background research experience. the final part was the onsite, which included a tour and an interview where they asked me behavioral questions and questions about leading a project.

I started with a quick chat with the recruiter, then had a couple of really long Zoom interviews that went deep. After that, I was invited to come to the office for an on-site interview where I met about 5 different people. I had to fly out for it, stay overnight, and then spend a whole day interviewing before flying home super late, getting back around 2 am. The interviews felt like they were trying to see how I'd handled things before and what my general approach was, but it wasn't super consistent across the different people I spoke with. I put in a lot of hours and time away from my family just to get a really impersonal email saying I wasn't selected a week later. When I tried to get some feedback, the recruiter just ghosted me. It's pretty messed up, honestly. I get not getting the job if I'm not the right fit, but people are investing their time, and the least you can do is give them some pointers on why they didn't make the cut after all the hours they gave you. Super disappointing, especially for a recruiting leadership role! Honestly, I feel like I probably dodged a bullet.
