Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Westinghouse.
Electrical Engineer
This was about a 90-minute, mixed-format interview with the hiring manager. It covered teamwork and how I handle mistakes. It was tough but efficient for assessing both my soft skills and my professional expertise.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake or a wrong decision.
- What are your thoughts on safety?
Electrical Engineer
It was just one online call with 4 people. They talked about my resume and technical background. They also asked me why I chose engineering and what I knew about the company.
- Can you tell me about the history of Westinghouse?
- What motivated you to go into engineering?
- What is your understanding of our company?
Electrician
It was a panel interview with a hands-on electrical test. I think I'll have to come back after the first interview because I had to wire a motor starter circuit. I was interviewed by four people: the manager, an engineer, an electrician, and HR. Expect a long wait for the background and drug test processing.
- Can you explain the working mechanism of a chiller/scrubber?
