& Process

This was the longest interview process I've ever experienced, spanning 3 months and a total of 6 interviews. There was about 1-2 weeks between each one. The first and last interviews were with HR. The second, third, and fourth interviews were with the Hiring Manager and Senior Directors. The fifth interview was a group presentation of a business plan. They asked normal questions about my background. The Senior Directors didn't seem engaged and didn't seem to read my CV or Business Plan. The Hiring Manager and HR conversations were very engaging. I got very little feedback or direction during the whole 3-month process. Nobody was very forthcoming about where I was in the decision-making process or about company specifics, they just kept scheduling more appointments.

After doing a take-home assignment and 2 to 3 technical rounds, I was ghosted. The job listing was also removed from the career site and LinkedIn. It was frustrating because we put a lot of time into preparing and doing the take-home work. I tried reaching out to HR and the teams multiple times via email, but I never got any feedback or results. I wouldn't recommend this company because they don't respect a candidate's time.

I went through 3 rounds and the interviewers were all really nice and I liked talking with them. First, I had a phone call with the hiring manager. We just chatted to get to know each other, and they told me about the role, what the project involves, and what the company is looking for in an intern. Then, there was a panel interview with two Principal Engineers. This was a technical round where we talked a lot about cloud tech and my past work. Finally, I had a casual chat with the Senior Director.

I was first contacted by an external recruiter about the role. Then, I had two interviews with the hiring manager, both times cut short or rescheduled. Following that, I had virtual interviews with various members of the Talent team and potential direct reports. Everything seemed to go well, but then there was silence for two weeks. I followed up with both the external recruiter and the internal talent contact, but they had no information. Finally, another week passed. Since I had another offer, I emailed the hiring manager directly to inform them I was accepting another position but wanted to give them a heads-up. He replied that he regretted they had decided to make the role onsite instead of remote as initially advertised and that they were moving forward without me. It was pretty frustrating to change the job requirements last minute after I'd already invested over 5 hours in multiple interviews, and not be informed directly without me reaching out.
