We had multiple virtual and in-person interviews spanning six weeks. I met with executives from audit and tax, as well as C-suite members. The final meeting was with the top executive committee.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was pretty standard. I interviewed in AL at my college recruiting center. There were two recruiters there, both from Birmingham. We spoke about my studies in school, what department I was considering, and when I could intern (some schools do January - April 15/January - March 15/February 15-April 15/etc. based on classes your senior year). I WOULD DEFINITELY SUGGEST COMING WITH QUESTIONS. It is best to come to Meet the Firms at your school early and speak with them so you can be invited to socials, but not necessary. I didn't attend any of their socials and still got an offer, but it came down to my experience/grades/resume/interview. Do your research before you come and be prepared with questions about intern expectations, typical work week, typical work, etc. I would suggest doing an office visit too because all the offices have a different personality.

I had a one-hour video interview with one person, and it went really well. Both HR and the interviewer seemed very interested. My background check was completed, but then, unexpectedly, I never heard back from them. I tried reaching out to two people I'd been in touch with, but got no response. I had other offers pending for a couple of weeks, and by the time I realized Warren Averett wasn't going to follow up as promised, I had already accepted another offer. I'm extremely disappointed with how the whole process turned out. I believe it's important to give candidates a response, even if it's a rejection, if you say you will. This was worse than not getting an offer at all.

It was a good interview process, very informative and straightforward. They seemed to want to see how I'd fit with the team, how I handle working with people and dealing with problems, and my technical abilities. I spoke with five people, from staff level all the way up to partner.
